On January 22, 2020, the Commission issued its decision in Michael K. McNary v. Alcoa World Alumina, LLC, Docket No. CENT 2015-279-DM.  

On January 22, 2020, the Commission issued its decision in Sunbelt Rentals, Inc., Docket No. VA 2013-291-M.  

On January 16, 2020, the Commission issued its decision in KenAmerican Resources, Inc., Docket No. KENT 2013-211.  

On November 19, 2019, the Commission granted the petition for discretionary review filed by Consol Pennsylvania Coal Company in Docket No. PENN 2018-169. 

The Commission published interim rules on December 23, 2013, that permitted parties to file and serve documents electronically with the Commission, and
permitted comments on the rules. The Commission is adopting those interim rules as final rules without making further changes.

    Effective date:  This final rule is effective December 23, 2019.
   Comments due date:  The Commission will accept written and electronic comments received on or before December 9, 2019.

On December 28, 2010, the Commission published a final rule which set forth procedures for simplified proceedings. The Commission implemented the simplified proceedings rule as a pilot program. After evaluating the pilot program, the Commission has determined that withdrawal of the simplified proceedings rule is necessary at this time.

This final rule is effective November 25, 2019 without further action, unless adverse comment is received by November 12, 2019. If adverse comment is received, the Commission will publish a timely withdrawal of this direct final rule in the Federal Register while the Commission considers appropriate action with respect to its simplified proceedings rule.

On September 30, 2019, the Commissioners unanimously appointed Glynn F. Voisin to serve as the Chief Administrative Law Judge of the Commission.  Judge Voisin comes to the Commission after a distinguished career as a Chief Administrative Law Judge and Administrative Law Judge for other federal agencies.

On September 30, 2019, the Commission issued its decision in Solar Sources Mining, LLC, Docket No. LAKE 2017-52.  

On September 26, 2019, the Commission issued its decision in M-Class Mining, LLC, Docket No. LAKE 2012-519.  

On September 19, 2019, the Commission granted the Secretary of Labor's petition for discretionary review of Docket No. LAKE 2019-0087-R.
